OutWest Instructors

Kylie

Kylie joins OutWest from the University of Montana Western, where she is earning a degree in Natural Horsemanship. She previously attended Montana State University. She grew up in Nevada City, California with her parents and two younger sisters. She started riding horses when she was 5 and has continued to learn as much as she can since then. She brings a knowledge of different methods of training and care in the equine industry, having volunteered and worked in many different barns since middle school. When she is not with horses she enjoys hiking in the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

Jacob

Jacob Christenson literally grew up at OutWest and has had a passion for horses his entire life. His foundation of experience competing at OutWest led to success at the state and national level in High School Rodeo Boys Cutting and Reined Cow Horse. Jacob was the MN HS Rodeo Reserve Champion in Boys Cutting in 2019, a 2X National HS Rodeo qualifier in Boys Cutting, and 1X National qualifier in Reined Cow Horse. Jacob earned his Bachelor Degree in Natural Horsemanship at the University of Montana Western in Dillon, Montana where he was also involved in several student groups including Student Government, Horseman Club and Young Farmers & Ranchers. Angie

A teacher at heart, Angie enjoys helping new riders feel comfortable and successful on horseback. She grew up riding at OutWest, competing in shows with the National Reining Horse Association, and in 4-H, then later became an All-American Varsity Equestrian athlete while riding for the equestrian team at South Dakota State University.

Angie's first career was a secondary school teacher, when she originally helped to develop OutWest's camp and lessons programs. A love for animals and those who depend on them for fun or livelihoods convinced her to attend veterinary school at Colorado State University, where she also rode for the school's ranch horse team. She enjoys merging her passions for teaching and animals through the OutWest lesson program as well as volunteering for an international veterinary organization, the Equitarian Initiative. Angie is excited to be back "home" working as a large animal veterinarian in the area and helping kids and adults alike connect with horses at OutWest.

Dylan

Dylan is currently a Senior at Monticello High School and has been riding and working at Out West arena for several years. He’s an all-around great young man who loves to teach. Dylan is currently the President of his 4H Club the Wild West Ranchers and has earned many accolades competing with his horses at the County and State level. When not at Out West, you can find Dylan fishing on a local lake!

Mollie+bio+pic.jpg

Mollie

While Mollie’s connection with OutWest is fairly recent, her earliest memories are with horses! She grew up on a small hobby farm in Northeast Iowa where she got her first pony and rode with her Dad and sister. As Mollie grew older, she was quite involved in the 4-H equine program, showing horses at the county and state fair as well as local shows and trail rides. She was encouraged to participate in a variety of events, which included pole bending, barrel racing and Western Horsemanship. She also spent several weeks during the summers at a local Bible camp, first as a horse camper, then an instructor followed by drill team leader. She was blessed with knowledgeable and passionate instructors through the years and is grateful for the opportunity to teach lessons at OutWest as a way to "give back" and hopefully provide a similar experience to her lesson kids!

When Mollie is not riding, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband & their two beautiful girls.

Hannah is currently working full time in Operations for Endeavor Air, the regional carrier of Delta Airlines.

You’ll find Hannah competing and helping out at all OutWest events including sorting, leagues, and Ranch Horse Shows.
